This Seal License is part of the PillWatch Terms of Service. It applies to every brand that displays the PillWatch Seal. "Seal" means the PillWatch Seal artwork, the "PillWatch Verified Source" wording, the PillWatch name and logo, and any printed seal labels we supply.
1. License grant
While your membership is active and a product's verification status is active, Secure Medical, Inc. grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to display the Seal for that product, under the rules below. You may not sublicense the Seal. Your manufacturer, distributors and retailers may show the Seal only on the verified product's own packaging or in a listing for that exact product.
2. Use the seal only on the verified product
- Each seal ID covers one specific product. Use the Seal only on that product, its packaging, and listings or web pages for that product.
- Do not use the Seal on other products, other sizes or formulas that were not verified, or on your brand as a whole, in a way that suggests unverified products are covered.
- If the product's formula, manufacturer or supply chain changes, stop adding the Seal to new production until we have re-verified it.
3. Always show the seal ID and a way to check it
- Every use of the Seal must show the product's seal ID (for example, PW-XXXXX) next to or beneath it.
- Online, the Seal must link to the product's verify page at pillwatch.com/verify/ followed by the seal ID.
- On packaging and print, include the seal ID and, where space allows, a QR code that opens the verify page. We can supply the QR code.
4. No alterations
Use only artwork we supply. Do not change its colors, wording, proportions or design, combine it with other marks, or crop it. You may resize it as long as it stays legible and keeps its proportions. Do not create your own versions of the Seal or anything confusingly similar to it.
5. No FDA or health claims
- Do not state or suggest that the Seal means FDA approval, FDA registration of the product, government endorsement or any form of certification beyond sourcing verification.
- Do not use the Seal next to, or as support for, health, disease or efficacy claims, or suggest that PillWatch has evaluated what the product does.
- Do not say or suggest the product was lab tested by or for PillWatch unless its verify page shows lab results on file, and then only for what was tested.
- Describe the Seal accurately. Acceptable: "Verified source by PillWatch: made by a licensed manufacturer and sourced through licensed distributors. Check seal ID PW-XXXXX at pillwatch.com/verify."
6. When a seal becomes inactive
A seal becomes inactive if sourcing can't be re-verified, if your membership is cancelled or lapses, or if we revoke it under section 7. When we notify you that a seal is inactive:
- stop applying the Seal to new packaging, labels and materials immediately;
- remove the Seal from websites, marketplace listings, ads and other digital materials within 30 days of our notice; and
- within the same 30 days, stop distributing printed materials and unused seal labels that show it, and do not use them again unless the seal is reactivated.
The verify page will show the seal as inactive. If you have finished goods already in the market that carry the Seal, tell us and we will agree on how to handle them.
7. Revocation
We may suspend or revoke your license to use the Seal, for one product or all of them, if you breach this Seal License or the Terms, provide false or misleading documents, fail re-verification, or use the Seal in a way we reasonably believe could mislead consumers. Where practical we will give notice and a chance to fix the problem. The removal rules in section 6 apply to any revocation.
8. Ownership and trademark notice
PillWatch, the PillWatch logo, the PillWatch Seal and "PillWatch Verified Source" are trademarks of Secure Medical, Inc.. All rights not expressly granted in this Seal License are reserved. Any goodwill from your use of the Seal benefits Secure Medical, Inc.. Do not register or use any domain name, social handle, trademark or business name that includes "PillWatch" or anything confusingly similar.
9. Reporting misuse
If you see the Seal on a product that isn't verified, or on a listing copying your brand, tell us at Marketing@securemedical.com. Shoppers can check any seal ID at pillwatch.com/verify.
